Trend T786 and My Experience
This is really Perfect dual SIM GSM mobile phone. I am using Trend Mobiles T786 since October 2007. This is excellent mobile phone which have ability to work with two GSM SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) at once without any trouble.
I am using this set with my two different Mobile phone provider which are Mobilink and Warid Telecom and never faced any problem in network. It provides excellent reception even in the basement.

Only one thing that you can use GPRS & WAP only on SIM1. But SIM2 can use for phone, SMS, GSM.
Now a days, another version of T786 is available which is T786i.
Well, i have been always reluctant in using any mobile set other than Nokia. But it is good to know about the performance of some new brands.
I pray Nokia also introduce a mobile with a dual SIM option.
I just bought this Trend T786i and nobody knows what operating system is installed in the phone. And the TREND people also told me i cannot install any software in the phone. What do you say ?
Aamir you are right.. I can’t install software on my T786. As this has basic features and i thought this Mobile is good with 2 SIMS for the telephonic purpose.
Also in Pakistan Mobile companies has not setting for this set. I went to Mobilink & Warid Telecome office but they said they have not settings for this Mobile SET.
That sucks that you can’t use GPRS on it cuz of the lack of settings.
Anyway, how much did u paid for it? I am also thinking of buying a dualsim phone. Is it worth buying this or should i stick with carrying to branded phones?
i have been using this cell fone for 2 years now,and wat i can say is tht its the best of best….nokia is way behind in the technology..thts all i can say
i havent used trend nor i want to use it, but all my drivers are using it and they find it very interactive and user freindly..
its a good fone and touch screen ….its got 2 sims and its slim and sexy
i must say this is one the of the greatest phone ive used. I have tried using all phone but this one has go to be the best. It truly is a great phone for its affordable price and the best part is that it has all the latest features.
how many sms can save on this fone is thei any option to save sms on memmory card? n plz tell me about the typing sped of this phone.
Just wondering do you know how to replace/delete the sms tones incorporated in Trend T786i? I suppose it will be similar to the T786. Please help.

Is it possible to use gprs and voice calls at the same time on seprate sims?

unfortunately, You can’t run GPRS on both SIMS at once. This service is only available on SIM 1.
But you can make voice calls on both SIMS at once. As both SIMs are active and you can receive and make call on both SIMs… but off course, you have to set ON HOLD to one call then receive or do call on other SIM.

If Trend T786i is similar to T786 and these tones are coming from storage card then it is very easy to replace/delete the tones. Simply connect phone to your computer and modify your require section.
It means that i can use GPRS on one Sim and can make/recieve call on the other Sim?

I used the first model of dual sim Trend mobile T 500. But I had bad experience with that.
I want to purchase T786i, Please suggest me honestly should I go for it. Can I activate GPRS facility on it.
i just bought this T786i and i m going to sale it … i bought it at cost of Rs. 12,000/- its totally a Chinese phone with very bad graphics … no flash for camera and quality of so called 2MG PIX cam is bad … secondly whenever somebody call me on any of my sims they complaint about hearing their own voice like echo … this was my worst choice ever and i will never recommend anybody to use this cell phone again ever … plus … their customer support is useless .. they dont reply to any emails or calls … they have virus on their website i have also sent email with attached images of that virus but nobody replied me … this mobile sucks
plus: i forgot to update about this mobile … i sold this mobile with loose of 4000/- in just 4 days …. so there is no resale value of this cell phone … i will never recommend anybody to buy this cell phone
there is virus on their website and even i informed them couple of times they never replied to any of my emails….
i think ali ur right in the case if some1 wants to do every thing with this mobile,but if any1 just want to have fun without going into these emails viruses stuff…its a better mobile..ok now plz any1 tell me how to put a lockcode with ur keypad lock……thnx do reply in my email or here
if any one have the GPRs issue in Trend Mobiles plz contact with me. i think there is no such issue of GRPRS and MMS in Trend phones.
How should I contact you for GPRS problems in this set as you mentioned yourself that pakistani telco companies donot have settings for T786. How are you running GPRS then? I really need to run GPRS.

I live in UK and got Trend T786. I want to conect internet but I have GPRS stting of Pakitani Networks i.e Ufone,Warid,Mobilink ect,But in UK there are different Network internet provider and they don’t have any GPRS setting for Trend,Could anyone guide how to set GPRS for foreign networks.
