Pakistani Rupee (Currency Note)
April 27, 2008 – 2:41 pm | by adminLast week, while i was sitting with my friends, One of my friend “Imran Sajjad” asked me, “do you have old notes of Pakistan’s currency like PKR 5, 10 etc?”
This question was surprised for me, I just replied why he want this. He said we should have a copy or pictures of old notes so that we can tell our new generation about our currency.
As I have not old currency notes nor a pictures. So, I have decided to search and find the pictures of currency notes and try to put on the web.
After a long searching, I just found some of the images… not sure either these are all or there is any other note too…
Thanks to banknotes and other site from where, I have able to get some of old Pakistani Note (Currency) pictures. While, some pictures are scanned myself.

It was so good to see efforts you have made to share old pakistani bank notes that Eiether I’ve never seen or even used . I still have few hundreds last I had in Pakistn in early 2000 and was wondering if we still could use them . Aslo I loved the colour scheme of new notes they look a bit smaller in size and more adjustable to wallet … well done a great effort from you .. Thank you for sharing with us overseas pakistanis to make us proud to see what we have got .

This is really a nice effort. You categorized these currency notes by the currency amount. I saw the following link which gives the exact duration of some of these currency notes.

I am posting this link because I might be helpful for some who are looking for the timeline of these. This link gives an update of Pakistani currency notes until 2006.

It remind me of my own child hood. We can tell our children which note was in use in our child hood. Notes these days remind me the fake currency which was usually available during Eid days written Eid Mubarak on them.
Please put old coins pictures as well lke annas, pice paisa etc.
