PTCL will charge local call on telephone inquiry 17

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) decided to charge local call on telephone inquiry number One-Seven (17) from June 1, 2008. Also they have change the inquiry number from One-Seven(17) to One-Two-One-Seven(1217).
This is another shocking news for PTCL customers who already paying huge bills in non-standard services.
Now a day, subscriber of PTCL are upset from the service of PTCL and submitting applications to discontinue the number from their premises.
Remember, Some time before PTCL change their local call timings. Now, the duration of local call is Rs. 2.00/2 minutes in peak time i.e. (8 am to 9 pm) and Rs. 2.00/4 minutes in off peak time i.e. (9 pm to 8 am). While it was Rs. 2.00/5 Minutes per local call before.
Now, here is a question — Why PTCL administration is making such policies which creates lot of problems for the subscriber. Why??? Are they want to see down fall in PTCL? Do you have answer of my question? Also I think, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is also involved in this type of policies. because it the duty of PTA to verify and approve the rates or packages in telecommunication world.

You are absolutely right. Due to the policies of PTCL my home phone budget increased Rs. 600 to Rs. 700 this month. I heard that many people of my social circle has decided to uninstall PTCL land line phones from their premises.
